I was working my way through April and it seemed like my anxiety and depression were easing down. I entered May hopeful, but I could feel the despair at the edge of my mind. I thankfully at this time recieved Animal Crossing as an early birthday present and have dived deep into the game. I’m not making excuses, it has helped me through another wave of depression, but it has also taken away my reading/writing time.
Yesterday was the start of the Bout of Books readathon which I had high expectations for two weeks back. I was on the fence about whether I should try or not and decided to still go for it. Most of the books listed were novellas and a great way to step back into reading. I don’t think I’ll reach my original goal, but if I make even half of it then I see it as a win.
In place of an April recap I’m going to talk about my favorite three reads with Quick Lit on Friday. The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, The Southern Book Club, and Killers of the Flower Moon really helped me get through the month and I want to spread the word.
The beginning of 2020 started off hopeful but rough due to illness, which just led to the hell of Covid-19. I want this to end so bad and I know everyone else can relate. I hope everyone who reads this is doing well and coping as best as you can.
